FIGHT FOR FINS

Shark populations have seen a drastic 70% decline in the past five decades. Shark finning is the leading cause of decline in shark population. Shark fins are worth a lot in the trade business, selling for as much as $500 a pound. Fishermen mainly collect fins and the shark’s body is thrown back into the water leaving them to die slowly. The World Wildlife Fund’s Fight for Fins campaign aims to increase awareness about the significance of sharks and encouraging collective action to support their conservation.
